Catching Up With a Franklin Graduate

Biography:

VictorMy name is Victor Ferro, and I am proud to be alumni of Franklin Academy's first graduating class, the Class of 2019. Born and raised in Venezuela, I moved to Weston, FL, for my high school years. I joined Franklin Academy in 2016, its inaugural year. During my time there, I took on several leadership roles: I was the first-ever Student Government President from 2016-2017 and served again in my senior year, 2018-2019. Beyond my role in student government, I was a founding member and President of the National Honor Society, Vice President and Treasurer of both the Kiwanis Key Club and the Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society, a Student Ambassador, and a Varsity Soccer Athlete. These roles allowed me to make significant contributions to the school community and hone my leadership skills.

After high school, I attended Texas A&M University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Engineering Project Management and a Certificate in International Engineering. My college years were filled with diverse experiences, including conducting research, serving in the Texas A&M Student Government Association, studying abroad for a semester in Qatar, and completing internships at renowned companies such as Eaton and Tesla. My involvement and positive impact on student life at Texas A&M earned me the Buck Weirus Spirit Award, one of the university's most prestigious student honors. Currently, I am about to embark on my professional career with Westinghouse Electric as a Manufacturing Engineer in the New Product Development team in Pittsburgh, PA.
